Why do we need a Zero Hunger Initiative?

While the 15 member countries of ECOWAS have reduced the prevalence of undernourishment from 24% in 1991 to 11% in 2012, this means that there are still close to 35 million people suffering from hunger in the region. We need to break this causality with a bold move: Only ZERO is an acceptable number when it comes to hunger!

New online discussion: "Rural radio and community media: empowering rural youth for resilient livelihoods and improved food security and nutrition"

To raise awareness on this important issue, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC), have launched an online discussion aimed at exploring the role of radio and community media in the lives of rural people in West Africa.
