Reinforcing the role of radio in electoral process

Last spring, the NGO Fondation Hirondelle organized a knowledge sharing and capacity building workshop centered on the role of radio stations in electoral process.

Twelve journalists from various countries gathered in Burkina Faso’s capital, Ouagadougou, to reflect on the importance of this medium, share experiences and revisit journalistic standards.

In countries were low literacy and illiteracy reaches high levels, radio stations play a considerable role in informing the population and help promote debate.
